1947: Rose Repetto creates her first ballet shoes on the advice of her son Roland Petit, in a tiny workshop near the National Opera de Paris.
1956: On Brigitte Bardot’s request, Rose Repetto creates the ‘Cendrillon; ballerina and dedicates it to her. For BB, this ballerina will always be a part of her success in Vadim’s film ‘Et Dieu créa la femme.’
1970’s: Serge Gainsbourg was fascinated by the ‘Zizi,’ a shoes model, created by Rose for Zizi Jeanmaire—her daughter-in-law. Serge became ambassador of the brand.
By the late 90’s to early 2000’s, Repetto had collaborated with the likes of Issey Miyake, Comme des Garcons, and Yoji Yamamoto. In 2009, Repetto and Karl Lagerfeld collaborated.
2012: For the first time, Repetto presents a ready-to-wear collection inspired by the dancer’s clothing.
